My question for all these 12V gadgets is why not just get an inverter? OK, so there's some overhead electricity use and they have their limitations, but unless you're a gadget nut and just hafta have separate 12V appliances, consider an inverter.

I have a 300W continuous/600W peak that I got for $63 at Damark and it runs my laptop, ZIP drive, razor recharger, NiCad battery charger, etc. (not all at once...2 outlets) and we haven't even done any serious camping yet.

My $.02.
