We have a '90 westy automatic, and we think it is wonderful! Acceleration is about the same as the standard. It might have slightly higher fuel consumption compared to my ex-81 standard westy, but it doesn't make much difference. It handles well, even on hills. The only thing missing is an overdrive gear for freeway cruising. It is nice not to worry about worn-out clutches. I replace the AT fluid about once a year, and change the filter periodically. It has been trouble-free so far. (knock on wood) Harald & Nancy '90 westy
