Folsk..

I work (at the moment..:) in a sunroof shop that speciallises (yep. spelt wrong..:) in aftermarket power sunroofs..We also do popups, and electric topsliders, too..:)

Its my opinion that any of the Webasto Starlight line of roofs would have no trouble fitting in a vanagon. I'd recommend going ahead with a Starlight 5 (the largest of the line still manufactured..), since there will likly be no troulbe with the car being to small...:)

The Starlights are factory roofs in Chryslers and Caddies...

If your serious about an aftermarket roof (other than a popup, thats simple, and shouldnt be to hard to install....:) start calling around to real sunroof shops, and talk to them about it..if they are not familiar with teh vanagon, offer to let them take a look at it, and see wht they think they can put in it..:)

The only problem i can forsee would maybe the the roof ridges...I havent had my hands on a vanagon in so long, i cant be sure...

(this is assuming that you would put it over the driver area, and not where the factory roof was, over the center area..)

Be prepared for this install to run you ~1500$'s, though....

later...david..
