Hi, I have another question for you! Actually quite a few, so here they go!

I want to install a more powerful engine in my Syncro Transporter. I was thinking of installing a 2.0L engine from a Audi 80 or 93 and newer Golf/Jetta. A lot of people have been telling me different things. Getting an engine running once it is bolted in is no problem for me. It is the stuff that I need to bolt it in is the problem! From what I can tell I need the following from a Diesel Vanagon:

- Oilpan and dipstick - Transmission bell housing (it will work with Syncro right!?) - Engine Mounts

Is there anything missing? I plan to run CIS injection as a first choice, but if fuel injection lines prove to be a problem I might switch to a 90-92 Cabriolet head and Digifant injection and splice the Cabrio and Vanagon injection systems together somehow. I'm wondering if you know someone who has gone down this path. Next, some people tell me that I cannot use the Diesel mounts 'cause I would have to fashion a new deck cover as the engine would sit up higher. This would be a problem seeing how I have a Transporter Pickup.

Thanks again!
