If it is a Single- or Crewcab, engine's compartment is higher than
regular Vanagon. Even the AUDI 5 Cyl. will fit. But using a 4 in-line,
which is turned to the left, will fit Vanagon engine compartment too.
In Syncros the engine is lowered by 2 cm or 3 cm. In this way you
can't use the regular Diesel engine mounts. Insert some spacers in
front and back at the engine mounts to the frame rails to meet the
level of the transmission line. CIS is a simple mechanical injection
system, fuel lines aren't the problem.
