Well, I'm sure glad the list is back up because I'm in deep Ca-Ca. Friday nite (10 pm) Jo Ann starts home from work and as she's on the on ramp there's a KA-Chunk, WHIRRRRRRRRR sound and the van, she goes no more. Had to be towed home, looks like the tranny is out. Did I hear that someone in Southern California has a 4-speed tranny for a '90 vanagon?

Did that slow us down? Did that ruin our weekend? No! We went 4-wheeling in the desert with 2 other couples from the list...Great folks by the way!

Now it looks like the front differential has failed in the Syncro. It still drives okay. We headed on home Sunday evening, when Jo Ann noticed that the headlights were not on. It seems that the toggle switch to the headlights also picked this weekend to go.

But we're still happy, yet, needing any assistance that list members can offer.

Steve and Jo Ann Wacker San Marcos, Ca. 90 Carat 86 Syncro (both wounded as of this writing)
