Subject:      Rear Heater Tricks?

Is there any way to rig up a rod or shaft to the rear heater core valve
lever so you don't have to lift the seat every time you want heat?  Not
sure what VW had in mind here, but there is a hole  in the actuating arm
for a cablew or small bolt.  TIA
