My wife was driving our 88 when she began getting a "hot glue gun" smell.
I traced the problem to the instrument cluster.  It seems that the previous
owner had tried to take the electrical connector above the spedo out and
tore the circuit plastic a bit.  They tried to fix it by sodering the
broken connection.  But it did'nt work.
Does any one have a replacement cluster for my 88(with tach) or is there a
way to fix it?  Does VDO have a service center?
