I Don't know what type of radio you have, but if it has an output for a
power antenna, that is what you use to turn external amplifiers on.  If it
doesn't, I'm afraid you are SOL unless you either change radios or open up
the existing one and modify it (this must be done by someone that knows what
they are doing).
