Subject: [Q] Bypassing Rear Seat Heat Exchanger

The rear seat heat exchanger on my 89 westy is leaking. I have not priced a new one but I suspect that it may be more than I am want to pay. I do not drive the vehicle in the winter, therefore I am contemplating on removing the heater core and plugging the feeder and return coolant lines under the rear seat. Has anyone attempted this? Any problems? The bonus is that I will have additional storage space under the seat.

While I am messing with the cooling system, I thought I would replace the antifreeze. Bentley's directions are a bit confusing. Is there anything online that gives a better step by step description on how to replace the coolant?

Thanks in advance!
