Chilly outside and snug inside...

That's the story. Did the Northern Vermont/New Hampshire leaf trek for two days and it was too nice to believe. The EVC was flawless; tranny was in tune to the mountains; gas mileage was 18 in hills and 24 on the flatland highways of Ohio and New York; furnace was snug; and the Norcold was as advertised.

Tried the Amish country around Burton, Ohio and Swine Creek Reservation with a very different twist. We drove the gravel roads around 5 mph with the windows down and gathered waves from every buggy as they passed us! Why go fast when everything around is going slow? Smiles and shy waves from little kids in the back of buggies peeking around the cab to see that slow van sailing over the roadways. Can you hear the clop-clop of those spirited horses passing you by? Don't do this on the paved roads tho. Parked the van next to horse stalls in the park and walked a mile and a half of shaded lane; even the cars wave if you wave to them, but the buggy inhabitants always wave. What a great place to break in "Flash" to touring with quiet brooks, home made cheeses, great breads and, well, cheaper wines...

Wish you were there, Gary Gary and Belle from Hallowell, ME garyc@saturn.caps.maine.edu '72 Westy (gone to iron oxide) '97 EVC "Flash"
