Hi!

My wife & I lived in Alaska many years (14 for me, 10 for her). We bought our '93 EV MV 5 speed in Anchorage in Feb, '94 & drove it and a U-Haul down the AlCan when we moved to Vermont three years ago. We took a Canadian route (closest to pure diagonal). 4700 +- miles in 11 days of driving over a 14 day period. AlCan remains unpaved over about a 300 mile stretch just into Canada from Alaska.

I've not yet written up a detailed acount of this journey, but really ought to sometime. The EV's semi camping rig was very serviceable for a trip like this, and in whole, this vehicle has proven itself time and time again - the best single vehicle I've ever owned, and I've owned a bunch - including 4 previous VW vans - a splittie, two breadloafs, and a breadloaf Westy. The EV's got over 93,000 miles now, and still feels largely like new...
