We have a 1985 Westy we have been using as a mobile winter home in N. America. We live on the back of two bicycles in summer. In the fall of 1998 we plan to head to Europe for anywhere from 5 to 10 years. We want to have the same lifestyle there, vliving in a van camper in winter and on the bikes in summer. We were considering shipping the van, a cost of about $1200. This approach is easier and allows us to keep registration in Wyoming which has no safety, smog, or other inspection requirements. However, we keep hearing rumors that Westies and Eurovan campers are so much cheaper in Europe it may be well worth our while to sell the 85 here and buy a newer one with fewer miles there. Does anyone have any clues as to what costs of used Westies and Eurovans might be? Where might be the best area to look for one? How easy are they to find? Could we get it registered in Wyoming? How much do the new Eurovan campers cost, as a comparison? Is there a Web site we can look in for price, registration, and insurance info? Plz email replies to cbergeron@sprynet.com. Thanks muchly.
