Subject: Tire Treads or Threads. (List Tire Purchase)

I've been looking for ways to add other products to my web pages, and I couldn't help but notice all of the tire threads that pop up every so often.

I have been running Yokohama Y356 tires on my '74 Bus for about 5 years and have been very happy with them. I have 6 ply in the front and 8 ply on the rear. I recently called around to find tires for my other Bus and was amazed that no one had them, or could only order them for $75 each for 6ply, plus balance and installation.

So I have researched the possibility of stocking and selling these tires to the VW community via my web pages. 185R14 6 ply would run around $50 ea plus shipping, and 8 ply would run close to $60. I will have to do a little more research on shipping, but UPS can easily ship them and the cost is usually around $10 per tire.

You would still have to take them to the local tire shop for balance and install, but you would save around $15/tire ($60 on a set of 4) And I could ship them to you in only a couple of days instead of the 10-15 days my local Yokohama dealer wanted.

If I get enough positive response from this idea (p-mail please), I would be happy to put together a list tire purchase as a one time thing and knock another $8-10$ off each tire. This would help set me up with the distributor, and I would offer a list discount after the initial list purchase.

Let me know what you all think. (as if I have to ask)
