Subject: 88 instrument cluster repair

On my 88 Vanagon gl, I experienced a "hot glue gun" smell. It turned out that the previous owner tried to remove a connector plug from the back of the spedo and tore the curcuit foil. He tried to "fix it" by soldering it, but no go. One of our list members was kind enough to supply me with the VW part for the curcuit foil. But I still need to get my odo fixed also. Does anyone have a source for spedo repair? Does VDO have a repair station in the states? Thanks,

Bill Lund
