Yes the intake leak check intales something like using some type of combustible gas around the intake hoses and waiting until you hear the motor rev. But I still think that it is the junk in the gas tank. I have read how to drop a tank in the manual and have done it on Golf and Rabbit pickups so I don't see how it would be all that hard. I had to do it on my Rabbit Pickup and I dropped the tank, got a little gas and put it inside and sloshed it around to try and stir up any rust and junk on the bottom, then dumped the gas into a container to use for lighting fires later. Let me know what happens because if I am right I want to let my buddy know about it! Happy Thanksgiving to you! Ken Wilford John 3:16
