I feel for ya bud. It's a terrible feeling to really like something (like these terriffic vans) and to have them let you down time and time again. Here is the email address for the people that make the kits to convert your Vanagon into V6anagon. kennedy@hughes.net. The company is called Kennedy Engineered Products and they make the adapter kits that include adapter plate, adapted flywheel, and all the hardware to install it. If you are feeling pretty confident in yourself as a mechanic you can try the conversion yourself. If not check around for a good mechanic and they can do the conversion for you. The kit is $500 then you need a clutch, a gear reduction starter and a exhaust system and Chevy V6 motor. All together if you buy a rebuilt motor and pay someone else to put it in I can't see it costing you more than $2000 probably less. And then you'll have more power and head problems should disappear. Let me know how it works out. If you email kennedy they can send you thier pamphlet through the email or by snail mail.
