...because Al Knowles is camping there tonight. He came up today from Pismo Beach, going to Yosemite in the morning, and stopped by for the night. Al drives a metallic red Syncro Westy, and the place looks like Vanagon heaven, now with THREE syncros and three reg'ler Vanagons in my driveway, along with a bus. *My* Westy is parked down in San Jose, so despite six Vanagons, there's still one missing (this also means --gasp-- that *I* am up to six of these things, oh my!). Al brought some fresh crab with him, fresh garlic and fresh lemon. What a guy! He's out enjoying our unparalleled night-sky right now. So the drivway looks full -- here's the roster: One Syncro Westy (Al's) One Syncro Kombi One Syncro Doublecab One dead Diesel Westy -- which will be salvaged to convert the Kombi One Vanagon GL 7-sitter One dead Vanagon 7-sitter, soon to be a doghouse for two big dogs. One partially stripped, but still running 1976 bus ...also one Acura Legend and one Toyota LandCrusher, assorted VW engines, transmissions, alternators, etc. Anybody else going to Yosemite, feel free to do an "Al" and stop by.
