Positive feedback. bye, Tim - After doing the ceramic thing on my heads (still holding good) I am still sold on ceramics for this problem. However there may be a even better process avalible. Someone on the list brought up the idea of using a anodize process on the heads developed by General Magnaplate Corp. It is supposed to be very anticorrosive. If this were done then the ceramic was put on over the anodize to help keep heat from transfering from the head to the rubber headgasket (should help keep the headgasket from deteriorating) and the combustion chambers and exhaust ports were done to keep heat out of the head and in the exhaust you might end up with some very high mileage heads. I wonder though if you stop all corrosion on the heads will it just transfer to the engine block? That is why boats use sacraficial plates on them. The plates corrode first so the expensive parts don't. - Todd Francis Ridgefield, Washington USA '86 Westy Syncro '91 Tristar |
