I'm sure I am getting false alarms. Several times I've gone out to the van in the morning only to find the alarm on. No heater or combustion sources were nearby--I'm parked behind my house, not even near the street. The Propex heater was not turned on. Once the alarm went off while a friend was sleeping in the van with the Propex heater turned on. That scared me so I borrowed one of the NightHawk units with the readout to verify that the heater didn't have a leak in the combustion chamber or something. The NightHawk unit never detected any CO, never read anything but 0 ppm. I think my detector is defective. |
