Can anyone advise me on this situation? Turn on the ignition, starts right up. After thirty seconds, while I am adjusting the seat belt etc., it dies. Will not restart. Wait 3 or 4 minutes, starts right up. After 30 seconds dies again. Repeat procedure! Eventually I found I could keep the engine going by (taking care of seat belt etc. first) keeping the engine revved until I am underway. No problem, until I start with a cold engine again. This is an '87 Vanagon Syncro GL (alias Westcott). Jim McCarthy, Somerville, MA |
