Hi Just want to let you know that I just bought a tent for my Westfalia 1991... not the newer model..the original high quality 1970 Drive Away Tent...(around 6'x10'foot). I haven't tried it yet but seems to fit the Vanagon perfectly, I mean what attaches to the gutter and clips under the van. This tent has height-ajustable metal posts and a rubber floor so heavy and sturdy that I can't hardly imagine it ever being damaged. The tent is almost in perfect condition and came with the 1970 Campmobile Owner's Guide, in which appears the plan to mount the tent.. Has this Guide any $$$value ?? cause I don't really need it... The good part about it is that it has barely been used in 27 years and that I paid...what seems to me quite a deal here on the West Coast...200,00 $ CAN./ 125 US$...You can see this tent on vw_camping_tent ( blue top with yellow sides and blue and red striped awning) By the way, I also bought a middle one-place seat, the one that slides into the rail...perfect addition for a family of four...keeps children away from each others... one more seat for inside or outside when camping...bed can unfold without removing seat...storage box under the seat... Salut... Alain Thibault Westfalia 1991 |
