They're fine when you have nearly decent traction at both wheels , perhaps like a wet street. This is why "hot rods" or other street machines use them. I'd like a limited slip in a Passat or Golf. If you're on ice or off-road, they're simply not sufficient. If you lift one wheel off road, the limited slip will allow it to spin and you'll be stuck!
