Have the mechanic test the motor with a mechanical oil pressure gauge just to make sure that something isn't really wrong. Then, what kind of oil filter is on the motor? Fram or a German one (Mann or Bosche)? The Fram ones have been known to make the oil light come on because they don't restrict the flow of oil as much as the German ones and therefore your system has slightly less pressure. However this is not really a bad thing since less restriction means more flow of oil, which is really want we want (nod your head here.) It could also be something about a pressure spring but the other guys on this list know more about that than me so if they want to tell you about it they can. I think this disscussion is in the archives as well. If your pressure is good you can always put in a VDO oil presure gauge and rip out the annoying beeping relay. Hope I helped.
