We'll maybe something less >drastic, a rebuild. :-) That's right, plus possible causes for the oil pressure being low, that are reasonably easy to fix: 4. Bad oil pressure regulating valve, replace plunger and spring. 5. Worn oil pump, rebuild/ replace. 6. Oil diluted with petrol, could be nothing more sinister than a bad spark plug or -cable. But then you'd probably note the power loss.
