I just called Fred's Garage in Redwood City, CA about having some work done on my '90 syncro, including changing the coolant. This garage comes highly recommended from both vanagon.com and a co-worker. When I asked about using phosphate-free coolant, she said that there is no need since they've found that the heads in the phosphate-free coolant engines are *more* pitted than the 'regular' coolants. hmmmmm...... Looks like i'll be supplying my own... stephen '90 syncro AW Fred 3:16 |
