Vanfolk: T I'm trying to pick away at some small ongoing problems.Any suggestions or help will be appreciated. 1. Auto Transmission line....a leak sprung through a rust hole sort of opposite the front edge of the rear tire. Gerry repair job with high pressure rubber line + gear clamps to bridge the excised (about 1/2" section) is fine until you get to a need to turn the wheel to full lock...then the patch blows. Can it be successfully patched? 2. Spring on accelerator mechanism (above idler bypass screw)...rusty, working but rather ratty looking. Will this go on indefinitely? Should it be replaced? 3. metal tube crossing over engine...originally black (now very rusted)...part of cooling system? 4. radio lights/half on: most of the time stock radio only half lights up... right three preselects light, left thre usually don't. Every now and the the whole thing lights up like a dare I say Xmas tree. I haven't been able to pin down why the inconsistency. Anyone out there have a similar experience? 5. strap encircling muffler...the last one [OEM] I got about two years ago, supposedly stainless @ $46. CDN ($32 US) rotted out in about 1.5 yrs. Stove pipe wire has lasted a year ($0.25 worth). Worth replacing? Any options?
Thanks as always Leo |
