Subject: Poptop seals
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii
I'm brand new to the list and want to find out some info on poptop
seals. I've heard of the ones from the Bus Depot with their aluminum
clips vs factory steel ones. Mine have rusted all to pieces and I want
to replace it over the holidays. I also heard some email that mentioned
the Bus Depot seals are a little short and don't quite make contact with
the roof. Isn't that a big problem (like no seal)? Is that just a
problem with the front seal around the luggage rack or does it not seal
the poptop section either? Also, the factory seal for the poptop comes
in one piece that goes all the way around. Others I've heard of come in
two pieces, one for the sides and back and another piece for the seal
between the poptop and the luggage rack. Do they both have to be
replaced at once since I have to remove the factory original seal or can
I leave the old section between the luggage rack and poptop on by
cutting the other sections from it. Can anybody give me info on how easy
a job this is? How about a URL to some place (FAQ?) that may already
cover this topic.
Thanks for the help,
Chuck
