The way to know for sure is to smell. As antifreeze heats up, it has a sweet smell. If your heater core had a leak, I'm sure a sweet vapor smell wafting into the cabin would be readily apparent. For that reason, I think you're OK, but if I were you, I would stick my nose in there and smell just to be sure. Just so you know, windshield washer fluid has a VERY faint Windexy smell.
