What I have used in the past, not on my Double Cab (yet) is the amber DRIVING lights by Bosch. They are awesome when there is any precipitation and they can be used by themselves. The yellow / amber light cuts through precipitation better than white light. I have also pretty good luck with Hella 550 amber fogs on my Double Cab.

What I did for a relay is get an wiring harness from a Rabbit and took an aux relay holder that normally went on top of the fuse panel and mounted it on top of the Vanagon fuse box. This makes for a totally factory looking install. If the relay is on the outside of the car water will kill it pretty quick! You can also use German made (80 and older) Rabbit / Scirocco switches in the Vanagons, again perfect fit! I used a rear defrost switch to turn my relay on and off.

This weekend I will be installing Phillips "All Weather" H4s in the Double Cab... hopefully they are worth the money!
