Dwight,

I am in the metro Atlanta GA area. I think you will enjoy the Westfalia experience. I left Atlanta in 1989 and spent two months traveling in a '69 Westy, easily the best time of my life, and ended up in San Diego for 4 years. I miss the back country - Julian, Santa Ysabel, Anza Borrego, Palomar observatory and other great attractions of your fine state!

The camper needs the following work:

Front heater core bypassed, A/C compressor not engaging (this is the fabled indash installation), cruise control not functioning, fridge not cooling well - probably just needs some basic maintenance.

All other camping equipment in excellent shape. Even with the above mentioned defects the camper is a great deal at $3500. I have had lots of fun this summer and fall camping in North Carolina and Texas and just need to get some cash flow so I can buy a house next year. You can bet I will be looking for another as soon as I get settled in.

P.S. I talked to a mechanic today about the smog issue and I plan on having him look at the camper next week. He is a Vanagon owner and came recommended by the list.

Best regards,

Bill
