Subject: 87 Digifant idle problems
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

Hello again,

Thanks for all responses regarding my quest trying to resolve my 87 Digifant hesitation problems on warmup - especially when the engine is lukewarm. I finally replace the coolant temperature sender learning that there are four kind: two blue ones (1 push in darker blue, one screw in lighter blue), a white one and a black one. I got the wrong one first. They also very in price. Mine the light blue screw in type cost $30 Canadian.

Whereas the engine runs a bit better on warmup, I still have some of the symptoms left (feels like a stuck choke valve) after one about one minute after engine start. It does not seem to be the idle stablizer. (I am beginning to suspect that the computer simply has learned bad behaviour.) I still suspect the airflow control unit though it seems to check out okay.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Björn
