When my 87 Syncro Camper crashed the insurance company offered me something
like $14,000 for it. I wrote them a nice letter saying the value was $18,000
plus 8% New York State sales tax.


After they got the letter, they called and said it was a good letter and
agreed to pay the total amount that I asked.


I worked on the letter on and off for four months, ignoring all their phone
calls and inquiries in the meantime, which were becoming increasingly
frantic--"where can we send a check," etc., entrieites which I ignored.


Some day I feel I should post this letter for you all to see.
