Hello James

Ask them to check the connections to the DLS (Digitale Leerlauf Stabilizierung) ie "Digital Idle Stabilizer". This is a whitish plastic box sitting on the left side wall of the engine bay. It has two three-pole connectors on the bottom, and those DO corrode. One test for a bad DLS is to bypass it, simply by pulling the plugs from the DLS and mating them. Could solve mysterious no-start problems too.
