Hey All!,

I just logged in to share with you all my (seemingly) good fortune today. On a "routine" parts hunt for a fellow listmember, I happened to visit a local salvage yard sporting an air-cooled 7 passenger Vanagon with severe fire damage to the tail section. I had been driving past the vehicle, which was displayed conveniently next to the road, for almost a year. To my intense delight, I found under close inspection that this particular van has an immense steel sliding sunroof, and Air Conditioning... I'll let you Put it together for a minute...

YES!!! in-dash Air Conditioning!!! My 30-year VW tech father had been telling me for years about this Mythical Westfalia-type A/C system that couldn't be installed where the Kombi Vanagon had it's, rather an in-dash system where the owner would lose the glove box (small price to pay for cold air out of those dash vents). I had been hoping for this exact system for my 3.1L Chevy V-6 pop-up sunroof Vanagon project!: http://www.mylink.net/~kdf_cars/v6van1.html

With the enough response, I could see my way to copying this A/C system for those of you who have no A/C and want it, and those of you with Westfalia Vanagons who need it.

This parts truck has some really great parts which I will need: grille (mine) 4 way flasher switch (spoken for) transmission (mine) front doors (make offer) front door panels (mine) steel wheels (make offer) fantastic super heavy duty chrome trailer hitch (good for copies (with response), otherwise for sale) sliding steel sunroof & necessary roof section (rough condition, make offer) -- Rick Sherrod Macon, GA kdf_cars@mylink.net http://www.mylink.net/~kdf_cars 83.5 Vanagon (sold) 88 Fox (FS) 81 Diesel 5000 (FS) 83 Volvo Diesel (hers) 82 Ex-Diesel V6 Vanagon project (his)
