I posted my tale of woe about my accident in my '93 EV MV a while back. The accident was violent and painful. Dealing with the insurance companies i all that but FAR longer in duration. I've now got the battered hulk here on my "farm". In looking the wreck over carefully I ALMOST missed the tractor trailer. I hit with what appears to be only some 6 inches or less of the front end. But a flat bed trailer is quite heavy and it did $23K of damage to a $14K or so van. Now I have a very expensive future trailer platform and hay barn. The interior will be saved until I can get another EV that might not be an MV.

But I still needed a van and am hooked on VW. Turned out the day I announced my accident one Mark Flynn announced he was selling he '86 Syncro Weekender (thats the fold down seat right?) Even more fortunate for me he lived only some 6 miles or so up the same county road I live off of. I brought it home Friday. So Joel you can move that Syncro to a new owner but its still near Wnchester VA. You decide whether you count my heap of scrap metal <grin>

I still miss the EV and will have another but now i have to read more carefully the Vanagon and especially Syncro posts.

Can't wait to test it out against both the '48 Wiilys "Jeep truck" pickup and '86 Ford Pickup hanging out on my farm The Willys is mine. So far I'm impressed.

And if any listmembers are passing through the Northern Shenadoah Valley let me know and we can play with the toy <grin>
