Probably the oil cooler (filter screws onto it) sealing ring.

Jim Thompson wrote this recently: VW has recently superseded the N 901814.02 O-Ring to a newer part number: 021-117-070A - Price is still the same at $3.35 each. Why they're using a Type 4 Engine prefix code is beyond me. I carry these as well (My PN 025-1119) - my price is $2.25 each.
