I have in front of me the current sales brochures of all available VW
Eurovans.
I also have in front of me the "special price list for members of the
German Foreign Service stationed in foreign counties" (don't ask).
Prices in DM no tax(NA):
Synchro Caravelle 2.5 Otto Cat 43,779.25DM
Synchro Caravelle 2.4 Diesel 42,109.00DM
then prices progressing through Caravelle long wheelbase, Caravelle GL,
GL long, Multivan flat, Multivan elevating roof, Camper flat, Camper
elevating roof, and finally
Camper fixed High Roof Synchro 2.5 Otto Cat 52,581.00DM
                                2.4 Diesel 50,910.75DM
The 7 page Options list is fun to read. You probably could push a Camper
Synchro to the 70,000.00DM mark with just the factory options.

BTW EPA and stuff don't work on Diplomats :)
