Scott,

Since the single pulley bolt is only torqued to 44 lb-ft it shouldn't be hard - use the tips from the list.

However the 3-groove pulley (AC, etc) is tightened to 258 lb-ft. To loosen that you should really lock the pulley itself while loosening. Bentley shows a VW fixture to do this with the engine in place. With the engine out I used a 1x2 steel bar (5 ft) with "pins" made from 3/4" bolts to hold the pulley.

Sorry-It's a 4 speed, no A/C , no power anything. Just a waterpump and alternator running off the crank pulley.
