Not to be picky, but I count 8.5 years with this same basic design.  1/2 a
year for 1983 and then 1984 to 1991inclusive.  I think bout 90,000 of them in
the USA and likely about 8-10 times that outside the USA.  That's not to say
that this is a high volume for an engine, but don't get the impression that
there are only a few thousand around.
