DM&FS: I have encountered the same problem. Upon re-installation I did not stretch the new boot as far.Less stretching =less stress on the boot. That is, I did not try to make the small diameter of the boot reach to the raised ridges on the axle. It seems logical that the purpose of these ridges is to grip the inside of the boot.So far, so good ; but, I also went with a different brand of boot. So...
