Subject: Propane Regulator

Hi all,

A couple questions related to repair and modifying the propane tank set up on my '86 Westy.

1. Must you use the same (OEM) propane regulator or can you replace the original with any available from an RV dealer?

If I remember correctly regulators are all set to the same output standard and therefore are interchangeable.

2. Has anyone added a "tee" fitting to allow the use of a larger propane tank (ie. standard BBQ or RV tank of the 10-20# variety)?

Any response appreciated.

Also, for those that are interested, I nearly eliminated the "body lean/sway" problem by doing what Joel Walker suggested - increase and equal the tire pressures - now set at 48 lbs all around.

Thanks in advance, and again to Joel for his experienced advice. Denys ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Denys Mueller Murrieta, CA 1986 VW Westy - BCHMOTL PO '80 & '89 Westys'
