In case any one whants to know: The EV engine is mounted transversly with the block tilted forward about 40 degrees. The oil filter is sandwiched between the engine and firewall. It can be reached OK but its not easy.

Remote mounting just for reasons of service is not a good idea since it would introduce additional oil lines that could, can and do leak. Also there is not many other areas for the filter to go, Maybe in the area with the fuel filter? Another thing to consider is that if this was done the lines would then be hard to reach to inspect for leaks/damage.
