The struts on my 95 EV Camper hold the top up with no problem. I have a Yakima rack mounted and it doesn't seem to make any difference. I usually only have the two bars on, but there is no problem with the struts holding the top up. So it sounds like there is variability in the pressure of struts. Holding the top up with my head is another issue when the top is partially down. Maybe we could design an EVC helmut and retire. Ricardo EVC 95
