Mine has the same milage and while I notice a slightly higher RPM requirement when first starting up in cold, it is nothing like yours.

This is the second clue that something is wrong. My auto is just as fast as a stick. I too have become surprizingly fond of the automatic. Definately makes it harder to put it up for sale!
