Roy, Is there a rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr sound coming from the engine compartment, directly proportionate to RPM? If the power steering pump is noisy like that, then you have air in the steering system for sure (steering feel will not change, though) There are other things up front in the Vanagon, like the windshield washer reservoir (which leaks often, so I'm told) and >gasp< the radiator. What does the fluid look like, and does it smell sweet, or perhaps like ammonia? Best regards, Sam
