VW industrial sells TDI engines for industrial applications. The 1.9l
4cyl 'AFD' industrial version is derived from the automotive
counterpart, but with different fuel injection system and pistons,
optimized for continuous low rpm operation. They may meet EPA
regulations, but
are most likely not approved since VW does not intend to sell them
for automotive applications.
