Subject: Audi Parts in a Vanagon (Frankensteinagon?)
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"

While I was taking the transmission out of the Audi Fox Wagon that I am dismatling I noticed that a lot of the parts are quite simular to my Vanagon's.

- Both are longatute mounting - Hydrolic clutch - CV joints to give power to the driving wheels

Whould it be possible to use an Audi transmission in a Vanagon? I know the wasserboxer engine will not bolt up to it, but let's say we use an Audi cylinder engine instead. Besides playing around with some CV joint sizes and axle lengths and most likely the shift linkage do you think it would be possible? To further extend this scenario out, how about a quattro drive train?

Beside the obvious "This will work fine if you like to drive in reverse all the time" responce. What do you think? About the reverse thing... how about turning the transmission over 180deg so it is going in "reverse"!

What would you call it? Audiagon... Vanaudiagon...
