For Sale (2) 1980 Westi's.

To make room and pay for a Deluxe 21/23. (I don't have one yet, I'm in a lookinfor mode)

The daily driver I've had since 1984, and am the second owner. It has over 200K on it overall. Overall condition is good.

The windshield has a single crack from bottom to top, but not distracting.

Small tear in the pop-top canvas. I haven't used the fridge in years, there is an electrical break somewhere. CV's repacked last year. The tires are in great shape.

This bus started out as a non-CA vehicle but a few years back needed some exhaust stuff, so bought bus#2. I took the FI and exhaust stuff off bus#2 and transplanted it to driver bus, and successfully passed CA emissions and the bus is now legally a CA version bus. Runs great.

Recent engine work includes a head from the other bus (valves ground) installed. Rear wheel bearings replaced a few years ago.

A little seam rust on the panel on the driver's side, vertical joint and at the rocker. Hit a deer, so front slightly caved in, touched up with matching paint, no rust there.

We used this bus extensively for camping while we lived in Arizona, but haven't done any camping recently, and probably won't is another reason for selling.

Interior suffers from wallpaper shedding. Camper water pump replaced with non-stock. I added an oil sump temp gauge. Wired for additional gauges. Heater boxes and heat system works great!

Good radio/tape player. 4 speakers with fade.

Asking $1800.

The 'other' bus - 1980 L Westi The body is in GREAT shape, much better than the driver. This bus would be perfect for someone who wrecked their bus's body and wanted to transplant.

Items missing (migrated to driver bus): fuel pump, one head, seat backs, CV's. Engine is a non-CA engine complete except for missing EGR filter. EGR valve needs a little work (shaft worn), crossover pipe is decent except that where EGR filter comes out has been folded over. Since this bus started out as a CA bus, it couldn't be smogged in CA with the engine stuff it has. CV's bad.

This is IMHO an unusual special edition version bus. I haven't been able to either confirm or deny though. It is a stock L version Westi, but a Cal look version, meaning that all the chrome bits found on the driver bus are black; bumper, no window chrome, vertical up windshield side is black, yet it is still an 'L' version. I haven't seen another one like it, and no one else has reported siting one either.

Interior suffers from sitting in the sun in one position too long. Wallpaper is in bad shape, curtains shot, cushion covers in bad shape, etc.

Purchased with a completely shot transmission. Unknown mileage, odo busted.

Asking $400.

I'd prefer that they go together (SO's preference actually), but not necessary, however they both need to be sold.

I haven't parted it out, as the body is in such good shape, it should be resurrected. I tried to keep from cannibalizing as much as possible, but when it's sitting right there . . . . .

Additionally I have a refurbished complete instrument cluster for a '80 L available. A few years ago I had the dreaded odometer problem, bought a couple of bad units from the junkers, mushed them together and ended up with two complete functional units, one in the driver, the other as a spare. Will sell separately for $50. (the L version has a clock in the right side)

All located in Grass Valley, CA about 30 miles east of Sacramento.

Photos are still in the camera, will post and advise when ready for viewing.
