You are holding a shaft that fits into a 3-4 inch splined sleeve and this sleeve goes over another shaft, both shafts are held end to end by a 6mm stud screwed in the ends so...lots of slack up and down and around and almost nil in and our..the outboard end of the shaft is supported in the pilot bearing in the crankshaft..the one you *are* going to replace..yes?
